The monsoon season in India ushers a series of festivities. It’s a glorious season, as the Earth rejoices itself after the hot and dry season. With the onset of rains, the surroundings are green and lush, making Hariyali Teej a joyous celebration. In Hindi, Hariyali refers to the color green. Women in India adorn themselves this day, in hues of greens and reds and apply henna on their hands and feet.
